Why we do Websites

Squarespace Website Designer

For over a decade, I have been a marketing consultant. Whenever I see a new client for the first time, it often doesn't take long before they begin to voice frustrations with their existing website.

It's usually the same theme. For example, a website company has built a good website, but as their business has evolved, it no longer accurately represents what they do. Another issue can be that technology has changed, leaving the website with performance issues.

I'm not a coder, or indeed that techy. My strengths are content and strategy. I, therefore, road-tested all of the different website platforms before settling on Squarespace. I wanted a robust platform that I would have confidence in, knowing that they would handle all coding and technical maintenance, leaving me to focus on content, design and layout.

Reacting online to the Pandemic

Businesses constantly evolve, as should their website. For example, during the Covid-19 pandemic, there was never a more significant time for communicating clear messages to customers. Therefore, while social media is one form of communication, the company website must be up to date.

During the pandemic, I helped my clients make changes to react extremely quickly to changes in trading. So many were able to make those changes easily for themselves, and I happily provided support as and when they needed it to help make this process fast and effective.

Mobile Compatible Websites

Beyond what is visible, the website needs to run efficiently. Under the bonnet, the engine needs to work smoothly. If the website has technical issues, Google is likely to penalise it in search results as they don't want to send people to websites that don't work correctly.

Over the years, changes such as the need for websites to be mobile compatible and have a security certificate has been vital for avoiding poor performance and a downranking from Google. Having a Squarespace website means that this work is all done for an affordable annual fee, and there are no extra costs.

Affordable Website Design

My website design costs are based on a day rate, with the simplest site up and running after two workdays. A little longer if photography, video and copywriting etc., are required. As a result, I've saved many businesses huge ongoing website costs and provided them with higher traffic and better-presented websites that generate positive engagement and sales.

Easily updated Websites

All of my website projects come with training on how to add/change content. Squarespace provides some excellent training videos and guides, backed with online chat support, plus I will be on hand to help as required. The critical thing to remember is that you do have the control and can make necessary changes in seconds – not days or months!

Designing a Website

Creating a website should not be a daunting task, using an uncomplicated and straightforward design – showcasing what you do and why customers should use you. There should be a simple call to action to generate enquiries or seamless online sales. At the concept stage, we will plan out both the design for the website and an easy system for getting it online.
